Ms. Alessandra’s Ballet Classes at the Red Brick Center for the Arts
(ages 4 and up)

Alessandra G. Strickland started her ballet studies at the State School of Dance Maria Olenewa in Rio de Janeiro. After winning awards in many International Ballet Competitions, she won a scholarship at the age of 13 to continue her ballet education in Europe-Germany at the State Ballet School of Berlin. She then graduated from the Ballet School of the Vienna State Opera and was a trainee with the Ballet Company in Austria. Alessandra danced professionally in Ballet Companies in Europe, US and Brazil.

Alessandra is an American Ballet Theatre Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through Level 5 of the ABT National Training Curriculum. She has many years of teaching experience in professionals and private Schools, in all levels and in coaching young dancers for ballet Competitions and Repertoire. She is passionate about ballet and loves to share her knowledge with young dancers of all ages!

Mission

The Mission of AGS Ballet Aspen is to provide students with the highest standards of ballet training in a fun learning environment, nurturing confidence and discipline. I wish that the Fine Art of Classical Dance inspires all my students throughout their lives as it inspired me!

Classes- in the Red Brick Center for the Arts, Dance Studio

Primary Level - Class for young dancers, ages 4 and 5, meeting once a week for 45 minutes. In this level students will be introduced to a traditional ballet class structure in a fun environment, presenting movement fundamentals and principles. Students need to be ready for a class experience without a parent in the classroom.

NEW CLASS- Introduction to Level 1-Class for young dancers in Kindergarten & 1st grade in School Year 23/24. Students will be introduced to ballet positions of feet and arms, in a fun environment, continuing to emphasize movements fundamentals and principles. Class meets once a week for 45 minutes.

Level 1- Class for 1st and 2nd graders in School Year 23/24. At this level, students will be introduced to the ballet technique, floor & center work. Class length of 1 hour.

Levels 2 & 3- Class for dancers currently in these levels, entering 3rd & 4th graders or per invite. At this level students will progress on ballet technique, body directions, floor, barre & center work. Class length of 1.10 hour.

Ballet & Choreography- Class for Middle School Dancers, including Ballet Technique and Choreography for students to express their own creativity. Class length of 1.10 hr.

POLICIES-Registration: Registration is per session of 7 or 8 weeks of classes. Priority sign up into the next session of classes will be offered to families that are participating in the current session.

Cancellation: Cancellation requests and refunds are considered if sent at least 7 days from the start of the session. A $20 administrative fee will be charged for all cancellations. No refunds will be issued within 7 days from the start of the session. If AGS Ballet Aspen has to cancel a class due to unforeseen circumstances, that class will be rescheduled. For performances, all ticket sales are final.
